WINNIPEG, MANITOBA: Dr. Anthon Meyer, President, AMDocs Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dave Williams as Chief of Staff and Medical Director of AMDocs Inc.
Dr. Williams comes to AMDocs from Health Canada with more than 25 years of experience within the Provincial and Federal health systems. For the last eight years, Dr. Williams has worked for Health Canada in the department of First Nations and Inuit Health where, as the Director of Care and Treatment and Regional Medical expert, he was responsible for supporting primary care and emergency services delivered in federal nursing stations and hospitals. During his tenure, Dr. Williams assisted in the development of a regional patient safety initiative, quality improvement program and a critical incident review process. His experience and exposure to First Nations Health care on a national basis allowed him to plan, implement and evaluate existing clinical programs and services. Dave attended the University of Manitoba and holds a Doctorate in Medicine as well as a Masters Degree in Public Health, both of which have allowed him to accumulate extensive experience in community wellness, promoting health lifestyles and the implementation of holistic patient centered models of care specific to Aboriginal peoples.
“I am honored and excited by the opportunity to support our First Nations people in their quest for wellness,” Williams said.
“Dave brings an impressive portfolio of experience that matches the mission of AMDocs, to provide a community based health solution for First Nations communities.” said Meyer. “He will be a tremendous asset to our company.”
In his position as Chief of Staff and Medical Director, Dr. Williams will be responsible for the administrative supervision of remote physician services and community health development specific to Aboriginal health care. As a mature and flexible physician, with great sensitivity to the culture and politics of northern Canada, Dr. Williams’ key responsibilities will be to provide leadership for the medical staff, including professional development and program quality improvement.
